Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) obtained the Gold Level Certification in the Healthy Workplace Standard by Excellence Canada, a national recognition of organizations that demonstrate excellence in health, safety, and well-being at work.

This certification celebrates CMH’s strong commitment to fostering a healthy, safe, and supportive environment where staff, medical professionals, and volunteers can thrive.

“Receiving this recognition is a testament to the compassion and collaboration of our CMH team,” said Patrick Gaskin, President & CEO. “Creating a healthy and joyful workplace doesn’t happen by chance — it takes ongoing effort, care, and shared commitment. This achievement is an important milestone in our journey, but our focus on continuous improvement will never stop.”

The Healthy Workplace Standard is a national framework that assesses leadership, planning, implementation, and well-being. CMH’s certification process included a comprehensive submission, site visits, and focus groups that demonstrated strong leadership commitment and meaningful staff engagement.

The recognition also aligns with CMH’s 2022–27 Strategic Plan, which places “Joy in Work” at the centre of its people strategy. By supporting both physical and psychological health, CMH continues to build a culture that strengthens care quality, teamwork, and community trust.

CMH will officially receive this national recognition at the 2025 Canada Awards for Excellence on November 20.
